On 23-24 November 2018, the third International Conference dedicated to Nutrition and Eating Disorders was held at the MAST Foundation Auditorium in Bologna.
The conference, organised by the Gruber Foundation, provided an important opportunity to reflect on the severity of ED patients, as manifested through the interplay of familial and social dimensions, somatic aspects and psychopathological factors associated with psychiatric comorbidity.
Over the two study days, the concept of the severe case was explored in-depth and defined through presentation and discussion between authoritative national and international professionals involved in the multidisciplinary context of the care network for ED patients.
The importance of therapeutic integration in different treatment settings was also highlighted, through presentation of the clinical model implemented at the Gruber Residence and other international models of institutional treatment.
